This site is a branch of Indivisible Outreach, operating as an independent clearinghouse for all related groups in Monroe, Orleans, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario and Wayne counties.
CAN I MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

Yes. Most activists/protestors are just like you, individuals with no experience in this arena. Your personal participation adds a voice that will be heard by your community and leaders. You will be heard when it seems there is no other way to be heard. Courage is contagious. Your friends, family and neighbors will see you and may find it in themselves to join the movement. The more voices added, the more success.
WHERE DO I BEGIN?
The Activist/Protest organizations in the Rochester region are grassroots, meaning they have been started and are run by ordinary citizens like you. In some cases, they are part of regional or national volunteer groups.
There are multiple groups operating in the five county Rochester region. They all operate independently from each other, with separate websites, social media, and event schedules. The can be confusing to a new person deciding where to get started. To navigate this, on the Main Page, right click on "List of Local Groups". This will show you every group in the area, general information, and all links to that groups social media, e-mail address, and contact information. Tip: some groups ask you to join them before you can fully see their information (Facebook, Instagram, ect...). It is a fairly common practice.
You do not need to join a group to be effective. If you right click on "Calendar", you will see scheduled events in the region, and can choose what is best for you. In most cases you can just show up, and you will be very welcome.
If you can't make it to an actual protest, there are other ways to contribute. "Protest From Home Options" provides links for Phone Calls to Politicians, Postcard Outreach (surprisingly effective). Voter Registration and Turnout and Companies to Boycott. All of these work.
